If you’d like to change which of the authors on your blog is given attribution for a specific post, this video will show you how.

Overview:

If you have more than one one author working on your blog you might find from time to time that you need to change the attribution or author of a post.

You can do that with the dropdown menu under the postauthor pane. Selecting the name of whoever you would like to credit for the post. When the post goes live, that is the author who will be credited.

This handy dashboard widget allows you to monitor your server directly on the WordPress dashboard.

Simply copy the code below and paste in your functions.php file. For this to work you also must set the value of the $logfile variable at the start to the absolute server path of your log file.

If you are a WordPress user who is bored with the same old fonts you should check out these WordPress Plugins for font replacement.

1. Font Burner Control Panel

Typography on the web is very limiting. Luckily you have options when it comes to improving the fonts on your site. The Font Burner Control Panel plugin allows you to easily add any of the 1000+ free fonts available on the Font Burner website to your WordPress theme. Simply find a font you like and type it’s name into this plugin and your headlines will instantly be transformed! You don’t need to know how to use sifr, you don’t have to customize your theme. You don’t need Flash. Font Burner is the easiest way to bring rich typography into your WordPress theme.

2. Dynamic Font Replacement

Use your own ttf- or otf-fonts with wordpress. Seo-friendly, fast and easy. The plugin does display the document and replace the text in the background. The actual source code does remain the same. This way search engines wont have any problems reading and indexing. The conversion is quick and easy. You wont need to implement any extra CSS files because the plug-in does detect the tags used and replaces them automatically.

3. Typekit Fonts for WordPress

Allows you to embed and use Typekit fonts in your WordPress website without having to edit your theme’s header or CSS files.

Typekit offers a service that allows you to select from a range of hundreds of high quality fonts for your WordPress website. The fonts are applied using the font-face standard, so they are standards compliant, fully licensed and accessible.

To use this plugin you need to sign up with Typekit, install this plugin and then configure CSS for your site. Detailed instructions are available on the plugin’s settings page.

4. WP sIFR

WP sIFR was created to remove the complications from getting custom fonts on a WordPress site. With WP sIFR, you only have to upload your SWF font file to the plugin directory and then login, activate it, and configure its styles all in the Settings panel.

5. AnyFont

AnyFont allows you to use any truetype or opentype font for post titles, menu items or anywhere else you want to use a custom font in your theme design.

This plugin also gives the option to add shadow effects in your style for the GD module, and for Imagick, the shadow effects have been enhanced with a new option to soften and spread out the shadow. A lot of work has also gone into the style manager interface with the most notable changes being, font previews in the font select dropdown, and the ability to customize the font size to any size you like!

6. WP-TTFGen

TrueType Font Generator, or TTFGen, is a combination of PHP and jQuery which allows you to use custom fonts on your website which are guaranteed to be cross browser compatible and SEO Friendly.

TTFGen automatically generates static text images based on your own set of parameters. A small jQuery script is used to call the PHP image renderer, which uses the TTF file to generate the image.

7. WP Cufon

This Plugin makes it totally easy to implement Cufon into your WordPress Blog. The only thing you have to do is converting your fontfiles and upload them into the plugins directory. You can enable the objects you want to get replaced in the Admin Menu of WordPress.

8. Facelift Image Replacment (FLIR)

Facelift Image Replacement (or FLIR, pronounced fleer) is an image replacement script that dynamically generates image representations of text on your web page in fonts that otherwise might not be visible to your visitors. The generated image will be automatically inserted into your web page via Javascript and visible to all modern browsers. Any element with text can be replaced.

A neat way to spice up your WordPress search page is to highlight search terms within your search results. The solution described in this tutorial will highlight both the title and post content and is a drop-in modification for WordPress.
